Brooklyn Museum of Art says…

The Brooklyn Museum's exhibition of contemporary Caribbean art gathers works from 14 diverse nations. Western Europe's colonial legacy remains an important topic to many of the artists, including Haitian artist Jean-Ulrick Désert, whose The Burqa Project is comprised of four mannequins dressed in burqas made from the flags of western nations with strong historical roles in the region. In El Dorado, Guyana-born Hew Locke crafts a not-exactly-flattering portrait of Queen Elizabeth II from souvenir kitsch. Under Discussion, a video by Puerto Rican multimedia duo Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, depicts a man cruising along contested waters in an upturned table jerry-rigged with an outboard motor.
