If the recent wave of polished, poppy dance music has you yearning for something a bit more dangerous, the folks at APT have read your mind. The venue hosts a new series that features DJs from the militant Detroit label Underground Resistance. Each month, a labelmate joins UR's Nomadico (aka DJ Dex), who provides a healthy mix of techno, funk, breakbeats, and electro to kick your ass into gear. The first incarnation brings Suburban Knight, who makes disciplined use of crisp hi-hats and stabbing bass to take you on a dark trip through underground Detroit.
