G'Day USA: Australia Week

January conjures images of tanned bodies playing beach volleyball and surfing the waves off a golden coast. Well, it does for Australians, anyway. To make it up to those of us used to a cold and gray month, the good folks from Down Under present a week of events celebrating their sunny homeland. G'Day USA: Australia Week 2008 kicks off with a bang, showcasing a slew of performance artists like rock band Eskimo Joe, the Australian Dance Theatre, and unusualist Raymond Crowe (that's Aussie for comedian, puppeteer, and magician) in Australia Plays Broadway. The rest of the week is filled with events spotlighting Australian fashion, food, wine, and tourism, as well as a gala honoring Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon.
