Lucille Lortel Theatre says…

Playwright Mick Gordon calls his plays "theatre essays" because they analyze a specific subject in hand, while portraying the lives of real people. On Religion, Gordon's collaboration with philosopher AC Grayling, examines one of the most volatile subjects of our time. After a critical success in London, the play makes its US premiere with a new name, Grace. Lynn Redgrave gives a tour-de-force performance as the title character, a scientist and atheist who is shaken by her son's decision to become a priest. The play's highly intellectual discourse refuses to take sides, and remains accessible thanks to engaging storytelling, relatable themes, and one of the strongest casts currently onstage.
