Through its cast of expressive marionettes (and their fine-tailored manipulators), Fabrik: The Legend of M. Rabinowitz tells the story of Moritz, a Norwegian Jewish garmento whose outspoken pride in his country and heritage brings him to a heartbreaking end. As Moritz's story unfolds, we learn his rules of businessman-hood, glimpse into his happy family life, and witness the nightmare of his exile by the shark-like Hitler. With all the real-life emotions flying around, it's easy to lose sight of the strings attached to "the only Jew in town" — from a delicate ballet routine to Moritz's grisly end, the felt-built inhabitants of Fabrik tug at the heartstrings.
