Russell Barr wrote and stars in this emotionally charged monologue directed by Michael Imperoli (of Christopher Moltisanti Sopranos fame). The cluttered, childlike bedroom stage sets the tone for the slightly unhinged Bernice as he recounts, in full drag, his part-memoir, part-confession about a checkered childhood and an adult life as a transvestite in Glasgow. Barr's impressive and at times intimidating performance dances around central themes of the depravity and violence inherent in society, and is peppered with wild anecdotes and a crash course in Glasgae banter, leaving Sisters, Such Devoted Sisters' audience shocked but laughed-out.
