Idiotarod NYC 2008

With a name and purpose inspired by the Alaskan sled-dog race, the NYC Idiotarod sets city dwellers on an urban shopping-cart run. The wildly modified race-carts are manned by teams of five for cash, prizes, and bragging rights. Each crew is responsible for bringing its own ride and is encouraged to decorate, reconstruct, or even deconstruct carts, as long as all parts are present and accounted for at race time, with no motors or secondary vehicles used for towing. With only a starting line, a final destination, and a few checkpoints, each team chooses its own path to victory.
