LVHRD's ARCH DL is an intense battle of architectural prowess, quick thinking, and deft drinking. This year, architects from FXFOWLE (the firm behind the new New York Times Building) face the Konyk team (whose firm designed an expo center for the 2015 World's Fair). The architects also battle the clock, with just one hour to plan and build their models. A twist: building materials may stray from the usual studio fodder. This year's theme (still a secret) has something to do with the Alaskan wilderness (in 2029), lumberjacks, and "the future of humanity." A Dewar's sponsorship and requested woodland creature or lumberjack attire further promise that the night will be a good deal more whimsical than, say, The Fountainhead.
