Jeffrey Lewis is the goofy kid next door who spun his absentminded guitar-strumming and comic-book obsession into folk-pop gold. He's a refreshing voice among antifolkies — he knows there's no need to out-cool anyone, because we're all in this together. With songs about anything from how to survive a zombie attack to a fictional account of an L train run-in with — and subsequent violation by — Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Lewis is the kind of songwriter who can spin an entertaining yarn effortlessly (and tunefully). He plays tonight with New York duo Schwervon!
