Faithfully adapted from Mary Shelley's masterpiece, this puppet show miraculously conveys the somber Victorian mood of the original Frankenstein. With beautifully crafted marionettes, the hidden puppeteers animate tiny, detailed scenes in a three-by-two-foot proscenium. The familiar narrative follows Dr. Frankenstein as he journeys from Germany to the Arctic Circle on his quest to destroy the lonely, violent monster he created. Featuring live music and narration, the performance renders Shelley's ominous and cautionary tragedy in a one-hour elegy full of silhouettes, accordions, and murder.
