Swiss artist Olaf Breuning's work is wonderfully funny, co-opting the bright neon colors of contemporary art and the artificial conceit of pop culture. His newest collection of meticulously constructed photographs, sculptures, and line drawings opens this week at Metro Pictures. Smoke Bombs sets the stage with colorful aplomb. In an Impossible Balancing Act, a waiter balances six towers of glasses on his hands, feet, nose, and shin, while in Brian and Helicopter Hair, two models mock hair-product ads and the gore of a slasher movie.
