Taking cues from Cindy Lauper, Julie Budet (aka Yelle) has been kicking up her heels in a series of delicious, '80s-inspired dance anthems. A firebrand known for speaking her mind, the quirky French-born poppette debuted with "Je Veux Te Voir," a single that cheekily pays homage to the undersized anatomy of Cuizinier (of the Parisian hip-hop group TTC). Created with the help of producer GrandMarnier, her 2007 album Pop-Up features impossibly catchy pop chants that have earned the singer regular rotation in countless dance clubs across the pond. Tonight, she brings the Euro party to Webster Hall.
