Jorie Graham and Yusef Komunyakaa

Jorie Graham takes the stage at the 92nd Street Y alongside fellow Pulitzer-winner Yusef Komunyakaa. Graham's artful yet abrupt language characterizes her first book, Hybrids of Plants and of Ghosts, but linguistics is hardly the author's only area of interest. She's dwelled on topics ranging from the disparity between perception and reality (The Dream of the Unified Field) to the self and its relationship to history (the D-Day/Normandy poems of Overlord). Known for her versatility, Graham has altered her style again and again over 12 published books of poetry.
