In a thrilling, seductive performance, Campbell Scott portrays Kansas newspaperman Augustine Early, a tabloid reporter who lost his conscience long ago. The 90 minutes of this one-man show fly by as Scott completely inhabits this vulgar, fascinating manipulator who uncovers and exploits a political sex scandal from the inside, ultimately causing his own demise. Ronan Noone's script is raw and incisive, and few actors besides Scott could find a hint of sympathy in this man so convinced he's in control that he doesn't realize he's going off the rails.
