For more than 20 years, funk-infused post-punkers Bush Tetras have walked the line between dance-floor shimmy and seedy, streetwise shake. Sadly, original bassist Laura Kennedy, who has had Hepatitis C for the past 25 years, is now in dire need of a liver transplant. Tonight's all-star benefit features a wide range of East Village institutions, including a who's who art-punk jam featuring the Bush Tetras with the Patti Smith Group's Lenny Kaye and Volvoid Ivan Julian. No Wave godfather James Chance also appears alongside Labelle soulstress Nona Hendryx. In addition to the funds raised at the show, all proceeds from merchandise purchased through the ROIR website currently go to the Laura Kennedy Liver Fund.
