Adored by feminists, lesbians, and people of color, Angela Davis, who was once on the FBI's most-wanted list, is now a highly respected activist and scholar. Tonight she speaks at Cooper Union on "Abolition Democracy and Global Politics," referencing W.E.B. DuBois' thoughts on Black Reconstruction. For those who do not already know about the important roles that Davis played in the Black Panther party, women's liberation movement, and socialist/communist struggles, this in an excellent opportunity to get up to speed.
