After a summer full of dates dedicated to performing material from his DBX project, Daniel Bell returns to the Bunker tonight for a special five-hour set. Known as a pioneer of minimal techno, Bell has been producing since the early '90s and draws influences from contemporary classical performers such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass as well as beat-dropping contemporaries like Richie Hawtin (with whom Bell collaborated as Cybersonik) and Claude Young. Eric Cloutier, who recently relocated to NYC after working residencies and after-hours spots in Detroit, warms up the dance floor by melding minimal techno with dubby echoed space.
