Having survived the trials and tribulations of child stardom, indie-rock sweetheart (and, more recently, alt-country songstress) Jenny Lewis continues to turn traditional pop music on its head. As frontwoman of Rilo Kiley, Lewis wore her heart on her sleeve, crooning glaringly honest portrayals of young love and heartache. She then carved out a successful solo career with her debut album, Rabbit Fur Coat, and now she drops another set of morose, twangy cuts on Acid Tongue. As always, her plaintive voice prettily sighs and soars as though the Wild West weren't far off.
