Artist Talk with Guy Cassiers

Although hardly a household name (unless you happen to live in an experimental theater), Dutch/Belgian artist Guy Cassiers is quietly becoming one of the world's most forward-thinking directors. His productions break ground at the intersection of performance and technology, while frequently drawing inspiration from literary texts. One such work is his adaptation of Sunken Red — Jeroen Brouwers' chronicle of his family's internment during World War II — which BAM is currently presenting as part of its Next Wave festival. Tonight, Cassiers sheds some light on the production and his creative process, in conversation with CUNY's Frank Hentschker.

Note: Sunken Red runs October 7, 9, 10, and 11 at 7:30pm.
