Though their militant-rock-anthem assaults cry out to be played to stadiums of drunken, sun-drenched rebels, this time around, Awesome Color brighten the cozy, well-worn confines of Secret Project Robot. Michael Awesome, Allison Awesome, and Derek Awesome live in Brooklyn now, but they share a cop-fighting, Michigan skater past. Even their music is athletic, with head-banging, vein-popping, seemingly steroid-induced live performances. It's no wonder they caught the attention of Thurston Moore, Sonic Youth guitarist/vocalist and Ecstatic Peace head. The band lights up All Hallows Eve Weekend tonight alongside fellow Brooklyn noisemakers Oneida.
