Failed romantics the Rumble Strips have taken the UK by storm with the Jens Lekman-style tune "Girls and Boys in Love," the verbose Belle & Sebastian rumination "Cowboy," and even a Thin Lizzy cover. On the band's debut, Girls and Weather, singer Charlie Waller's whimpers, whines, and poetic witticisms are hedged by the neat drum beats of Matthew Wheeler, as well as some soulful sax and quirky acoustic guitar.
