As one half of electronic duo Matmos, Drew Daniel has crafted some of the strangest, most oblique pop music of the last decade. And when not working with Matmos partner M.C. Schmidt or on his dance-music side project Soft Pink Truth, Daniel teaches literature at John Hopkins University. And his most recent output is a recently completed book on Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz Funk Greats (for Continuum Books' 33 1/3 series), a perverse record by one of pop history's most deviant bands. Tonight, Drew reads from this, before giving his first-ever Manhattan performance as Soft Pink Truth.
