La Belle Usine, an international nonprofit devoted to avant-garde performance, presents the world premiere of this "Bio-Musical Tribute" created by biologist/artist Ana Isabel Ordonez. Ordonez, who moonlights as a globally respected entomologist, collaborated with the trumpeter Herb Robertson on this improvisational experiment in thinking and reacting as do organisms in nature. Part field survey, part jazz show, the evening's performance will attempt to serve as both an engaging musical experience and a lesson in the challenges and subtleties of non-verbal communication.
