Holiday shopping is often the stuff of anxiety attacks, but it doesn't have to be bankruptcy-inducing or mind-numbing, thanks to the long-running Union Square Holiday Market, now in its 13th year. With the economic downturn, there might be more hordes here than at Bloomie's this year, but they'll come across some much more creative gifting fare, from organic, free-trade comestibles to hand-made jewelry and apparel. So put on your game face and start spreading some cheer, dammit.
