Listening to the relentless riffage and inhuman guitar solos in Dragonforce's seven-plus-minute tracks is a lot like being stuck in a triumphant freeze-frame at the end of an '80s movie. As predictable as the band's songs are, they're addictive in their sheer, infectious positivity. The UK-based power-metal outfit outdoes pretty much every other band of the genre in terms of unapologetic flamboyance, taking guitar noodling to heretofore unimaginable extremes and sending Darkthrone fans fleeing in terror. Guitar Hero addicts and cosplay weirdos: tonight is your night, and together, you shall be victorious — because if Dragonforce proves anything, it's that we're all winners.
