Grammy-award winner and Mbalax proponent Youssou N'Dour graces NYC's Nokia Theatre at Times Square with his careening, caressing tenor. The Senegalese superstar has been an avalanche onstage since the late '70s, recording the smash "7 Seconds" with Neneh Cherry and composing and arranging a classic catalogue of his own music along the way, including the recently celebrated Egypt. Steeped in his country's tradition of musician/historian griots and praise singers, N'Dour routinely hotwires uplifting, syncopated carnivals of bliss in his evening-length performances.
