P.S. 122 says…

In a characteristically inspired meta-move, Goat Island, the highly regarded (and soon-to-be-disbanded) Chicago-based performance collective, organizes The Lastmaker, its last-ever play, around metronomic dance and interwoven monologues on final words and creations. The swan song of a show, which was informed by the Hagia Sophia Byzantine church-turned-museum in Istanbul, propels players onstage and off-, forwards and back-, where they each give voice to a feat like the last minute of Johann Sebastian Bach's Art of the Fugue and Lenny Bruce's penultimate performance. In the end, a St. Francis (who is as much Graham Norton as holy man) offers an elegiac goodbye over a Broken Social Scene recording, and Goat Island's final stage, significantly, is struck.
