Celebrating the US release of his band's sixth full-length album, Travis frontman Fran Healy performs a special solo acoustic show in support of Housing Works' ongoing fundraising efforts. Ode to J Smith is out this week on the band's own Red Telephone Box imprint, and finds the Scottish quartet returning to the rockier roots of its early days; hearing the songs stripped down to their six-string essences only serves to spotlight Healy's uncanny knack for a tune. Free beer comes courtesy of Whole Foods Bowery, and NYC's own twin-sister act the Bowmans open the show.
