Not even Paris Hilton can detract from the unlikely appeal of this science-fiction goth-rock opera. It's the year 2056, and a rash of organ failures have compelled Earth residents to go into hock to a malevolent biotech company in exchange for transplants — with plastic surgery thrown in for good measure. Naturally, the organs of the poor saps behind in their payments are collected in the most macabre fashion possible by the Repo Man, who reports to CEO Rotti Largo (a warbling Paul Sorvino) and his plastic surgery-addicted daughter Amber (Hilton, clearly stretching her horizons). Repo! The Genetic Musical is both grandiose and wonderfully overearnest — a cult-classic, in other words.
