Manhattan Monologue Slam proves that poets and rappers shouldn't be the only ones having all the open-mic fun. Adopting the familiar slam-challenge format, this monthly theatrical battle is split into two skill sets. The first half showcases actors in three-minute segments, set to wow the judges for a chance at career consultations, along with a title to defend in the next show. The second half is open to audience members ready to flex their thespian skills for fun and a chance at the following month's championship. Cash prizes and bragging rights abound.
