Biblical law may have taken three days and an exodus, but Keith Haring's Ten Commandments have waited 23 years to grace our side of the pond. Originally created in 1985 for his first solo museum show in Bordeaux, the concept emerged on the eve of his departure in a dance-floor vision. Tablet-shaped canvases, at a towering height of 25 feet, are filled with Haring's iconic figures enacting traditional and artist-interpreted understandings of the original rules. Deitch helped recreate Haring's downtown mural earlier this year to celebrate what would have been the artist's 50th birthday; although gone for nearly two decades, Haring's presence remains strong through his foundation, dedicated to AIDS outreach.
