Though Kidrockers may be in its infancy, the organization is already recruiting the best talent in indie music and comedy to perform their work in a simultaneously authentic and kid-friendly way — no small order. For this concert in its monthly series at the Living Room, Matthew Caws and Ira Elliot of Nada Surf perform their gentle indie anthems (their website's storybook illustrations make the pair a natural fit), and the Jealous Girlfriends offer up their versatile vocals and crunchy, atmospheric indie-psych texture. The bands play at lower volume for younger ears, and tykes are encouraged to ask questions and sometimes even play with the band. Kinda makes you want to be a kid again.
