Time flies when you're being prolific as hell. Best-selling author Neil Gaiman has been consistently delivering mind-bending novels, screenplays, comics, and children's books at such a regular pace, fans might not even realize two decades have passed since the debut of his game-changing Sandman. Following in the footsteps of his hero Alan Moore, Gaiman re-invented comic books in a dark literary vein with the series, opening up an entirely new mythology in the process. While his work tends other mediums these days — his long-awaited Graveyard Book was with us just in time for Halloween — it was Sandman that elevated Gaiman to a level where he could pick and choose his projects as he pleases. Tonight, he looks back on that groundbreaking work in conversation with Chip Kidd.
