A.L. Steiner and Robbinschilds designed Color Location Intimate Experience (C.L.U.E.) in collaboration with AJ Blandford and the Seattle band Kinski as a temporary installation at the New Museum. Employing multi-channel film projections in unique locations including stairwells and outdoor spaces, the exhibition subverts traditional museum aesthetics. Today they present C.L.U.E.'s performance aspect. Clothed in monochromatic, primary colors, yet partially nude, the artists occupy the museum space through ever-changing expressions of form and embodiment. The performance is both an impromptu reaction and a well-choreographed intervention.
