If you hated Jack Black's antics in School of Rock but loved the idea of kids wailing on guitars and beating drum kits to holy hell, check out the Gowanus Music Club for bands with members aged 8 to 16. Founded by musicians in an effort to make up for the lack of public-school arts programs in the city, the GMC instructs youngsters how to play their instruments of choice. This performance is the culmination of a semester of programming, at which Kings Highway, the Vote, and Reverse Psychology prove the kids are indeed alright.
