Exit Art has invited 50 artists to help lead New Yorkers through these jumbled times, with the aid of its Labyrinth project. Invoking the Greek myth, with the American people playing the part of the entrapped minotaur, artists address what is holding us back, and the possibilities that lie ahead. Composed of 8x8-foot panels, each wall of the maze depicts the artists' escape plans from our current socioeconomic binds. Photographs, paintings, sketches, and multimedia collage lead patrons through metaphors of nationalism as global entrapment, and political barriers as simultaneously unifying and divisive.
