José Limón's thriving company celebrates his centenary with a week at Joyce. Two familiar works, A Choreographic Offering, Limón's homage to company co-founder Doris Humphrey, and the searing retelling of Othello, The Moor's Pavane are understandably prominent. The Traitor, another signature Limón dance, is receiving a major revival. Judas is the implied central character, yet Limón creates a situation of recognizable human frailty. Anna Sokolow's Rooms is the highlight of both programs. Ms. Sokolow's 1955 look behind closed doors says as much about human psyche as Freud. Rooms is also not as heavy-handed as Martha Graham's phallic (yet wonderful) dance-dramas, making it all the more fitting that it is part of a repertory that explores and celebrates the human spirit.
