Keyboard-and-drum duo Talibam! have one goal: to play kick-ass rock with the energy (and volume) turned up to ten. Their non-stop beats, uncompromising synths, and savage vocals fill a room better than some bands with four or five people. As its name implies, the band's gimmick-free, laptop-less rock falls somewhere between Kabul and Williamsburg. Meanwhile, tonight's openers the Wiles have an ambient-rock sound, and the Failed Alliance play riff-centered songs with howling vocals à la Les Savy Fav.
