Tonight's indietastic NYE send-off may mark the the end of the Knitting Factory's Leonard Street era, but fear not friends: there's more to come in other arenas. For now, though, we're content to usher out the old space (and usher in the new year) with a brilliantly curated bill featuring — and hand-picked by — progressive freak-folkers Akron/Family. Spazzy yelpers Deerhoof headline after a set by equally erratic art-punkers Dirty Projectors. Swaggering, whiskey-soaked rocker Deer Tick is also on board, cawing to high heaven after a set by North Carolina indie-country crooners Megafaun.
