Misnomer Dance Theater: Being Together

Chris Elam is a rare bird: a downtown New York choreographer who appeals to a wider audience: look to his work on Björk's captivating "Wanderlust" video for evidence. Misnomer's Being Together program includes three world premieres, and his final segment, Zipper, has a commissioned score from Bang on a Can-founder and new-classical music man Evan Ziporyn. Elam's dances are almost always about interpersonal relationships — at once awkward and beautiful, emotional and funny.
