While Skinny Puppy was never dead-pan serious, frontman Nivek Ogre apparently needed another outlet for his acerbic humor. His side project, OhGr, is a bit more electro-pop and a bit less industrial, more hook-driven and a bit less dance-y. Songs like "Cracker" — which takes aim at the inauthenticity of everyone from Trent Reznor to Eminem — and pun-tastic album titles like SunnyPsyOp make Ogre's irreverence unmistakable. His latest album, Devils in My Details, is a darker addition to the catalog, atmospheric with fuzzed-out electronics, tribal repetition, creepy vocal samples, and a few jaunty moments for comic relief.
