Rising to popularity with 1996's buzzing post-punk dirge "Popular," Brooklyn's Nada Surf have spent the past decade hopping labels and redefining their musical identity. Now comfortably ensconced on Barsuk, the band has taken cues from labelmates such as Death Cab for Cutie and adopted a sparsely sweet indie sound adorned with brainy, bittersweet lyrics — an ideal repertoire for tonight's set.
