Performing Arts: Theatre Paradise Park

Charles Mee's work might not be terribly straightforward, but his collage-like storytelling should suit the multitasking, ADD-prone masses. Paradise Park, the playwright's third and final piece to hit Signature Theatre's Charles Mee season, uses fragmented dialogue, song-and-dance numbers, and startling stage tricks to complete its puzzle. The fantastic stage design threatens to upstage the actors, but the fine cast shines through the bumper cars, cotton-candy machines, and flying fruitcakes to deliver a heartbreaking tale of America's arcane past and present.
