Lest our sense of regional superiority get too high and mighty, tonight's slate of DC expats reminds us that not every band was born in Bushwick. Featuring ex-members of Dischord darlings Black Eyes, Mi Ami pick up where their former band left off, lacing dub/no-wave hybrids with screeching guitar and nascent, pre-pubescent screams. Food for Animals offer their own bizarre mishmash, tying wildly experimental, glitch-laden electronics to smooth-tongued hip-hop. Rounding out the roster of former Capitol Hill kids, Prince-obsessed synth-popper President (aka Harris Klahr) adds a bona-fide Q and not U connection.
