Music: Global Little Johnny and the LP All Stars Tribute to Carlos "Patato" Valdez

Little Johnny Rivero has been one of the city's most sought-after percussionists over the last few decades, holding his own with titans Celia Cruz and Tito Puente since he was barely legal. Tonight, the New York-born, Puerto Rico-raised "Pequeño" Johnny is joined by an all-star cast of speedy-handed Latin and jazz percussionists for a rowdy tribute to the late conguero Carlos "Patato" Valdez — best remembered for dancing on his congas and teaching Bridgette Bardot her moves. Finally, we'll learn the difference between a bongo and a conga.
