SNL fave Fred Armisen harbors a not-so-secret passion for instructional drumming videos. These serve as the inspiration for his latest project with (or as, depending on the rumors) polyrhythm master Jens Hannemann, the man behind "complicated drumming technique." And Armisen's enthusiasm — it's not all hogwash. Before his stint at SNL, Armisen was a drummer for post-punks Trenchmouth and the Blue Man Group. Tonight, expect appearances by Hannemann and some of the comic's more musical characters, and cross your fingers for a cameo from former Sleater-Kinney guitarist Carrie Brownstein (she and Armisen recently formed comedy duo ThunderAnt). A cappellist Petra Haden and her backing chorus the Sell-Outs fill out the bill; they specialize in entirely a-cappella versions of classic rock and pop.
