Note: Think you know really King Kong from Cloverfield? Take a closer look at the kaiju culture that spawned this event.
Kaiju Big Battel is a parody of monster mayhem. Costumed wrestlers (who oddly resemble oversized and overzealous trick-or-treaters) tussle in an unapologetic tribute to gratuitous violence, the theatrics of lucha libre, and the legacy of Japanese kaiju ("monster") movies. Tonight's WWE-style arena sees a showdown between fan favorites Steam Powered Tentacle Boulder, Call-Me-Kevin, Uchu Chu the Space Bug, and Dr. Cube, as well as the debut of the Kaiju Commissioner's latest concept: the Black Box. Now in its 14th year, this is KBB's first performance of 2008.
