More Flavor: Party Women's History Month Carnival

Tonight's Brooklyn Museum fête presents a carnaval-themed take on Women's History Month, bringing together hands-on partiers for interactive exhibits that honor both South American arts and crafts as well as women's historical achievements. Highlights include a Peruvian dance performance, clay-pottery sculpting, and a screening of Favela Rising, a poignant documentary on music's power to overcome violence. Fancy dancers should seek out Argentine tango troupe Los Chantas, who pay homage to greats like Gardel and Troilo, and the rest of us can groove in the Rubin Pavilion to baile funk, samba rock, and tropicalia courtesy of Brazilan Beat Brooklyn founder DJ Sean Marquand.
