Music: Global Bhangra Meets Brazil feat. DJ Rekha and Kazua Band

Samba Soul plays afterparty to the New York Arab and South Asian Film Festival tonight, pleasing cineastes and partygoers with an appropriately exotic soundtrack. Although they're both from Brooklyn, bhangra queen DJ Rekha and dub- and bass-master Dave Sharma (playing live percussion) turn the dance floor into a jungle — one part favela rhythm, one part Bombay beat. While Rekha digs through her mountainous crates, Kazua Band back up Sharmaji with live 'n lush instrumentals, giving you one more reason to try out your Bollywood-inspired moves.
