As half of the acrobatic burlesque duo the Wau Wau Sisters, Adrienne Truscott dangles from a trapeze while delivering risqué one-liners. But when it comes to her personal creative work, Truscott turns vigorous movement and outlandish humor on their heads. In genesis, no!, she uses methodical — mundane, even — gestures and subtle, witty humor to contemplate the fine line between intended and accidental art creation and exhibition. Both trained and amateur dancers perform the installation piece, placing a slew of everyday objects into new contexts and posing surprises and questions at every turn.
